Dr. Hurst graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He worked at a small animal practice in Florida for two years before to returning to Springfield in 1993, where he established White Oaks West Animal Hospital. Dr. Hurst enjoys providing quality care and building long lasting relationships with pets and their owners. He has provided medical consultation for the University of Illinois-Springfield Biology Department. You can see Dr. Hurst providing pet health recommendations on News Channel 20's Midday Report every other Thursday, as he has done so since 1991. Dr. Hurst's hobbies include SCUBA diving, underwater photography, traveling, and participating in canine agility with his Westie named Winnie.
